But I just can't pray

When life gets hard and we find ourselves in dire situations, we have two general responses ; Fight or Flight. Sometimes we fight, many many many times, we chose flight.

When life hits us or we don't understand or it's just too hard, we tend to let our weakness stop us from fighting our battles, stop us from seeking God and leaning on the Holy Spirit who is there to be the very thing we need in those moments, strength. We succumb to our weakness, cry, complain and forget we have a warrior inside of us.

Recently, I was reminded of the verses,

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:4

We need to constantly remember these verses.

We are fighting against an enemy whose very aim is to destroy us. Though God has already won the war, we need to fight the battles. For my history goons, if you think of World War II, though the west won the war, the French and British  lost the battle at Dunkirk because the enemy had cornered them. In your life, the enemy will try and corner you. He will isolate you and flood you with thoughts of defeat. But, dear reader, I hope you know that even if you are cornered, unlike the soldiers at Dunkirk, you are never without ammunition to fight back !

That ammunition is prayer. Pray, Pray, Pray until you feel like you're bothering God. Pray until you fall asleep. Don't stop praying because you want to sleep. Sleep because you are exhausted from prayer.

How are we meant to win the battle without using our weapons?

Some people say they don't know what to pray for, especially when they feel like they are just too many prayers to pray , so they don't know where to start. Well, will you rather pray 0/10 prayers than 5/10 ? Of course not

How do I pray?

Yes, you can talk to God without actually speaking BUT, when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray he said to them , "SAY" ..... So, dear reader, SAY.

The Devil gains ground in our silence so open your mouth.

Moses didn't have youtube for a sermon play back, so, he preached to himself

David didn't spotify or apple music for gospel tracks ,so, he sang a song.

Job didn't have a bible , so, he prayed.

The one thing they all have in common asides their faith is the fact that they opened their mouths.

So, dear reader, OPEN YOURS TOO!

Love Always,
